Online visa application innovator, Atlys, revealed on Thursday that it has successfully raised $12 million in series A funding, spearheaded by Peak XV Partners (formerly known as Sequoia Capital India) and Elevation Capital. Existing backers, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), the Musical Duo Chainsmokers, South Park Commons, and Pinterest Founders, also participated enthusiastically in this funding round. Atlys has outlined its strategic utilization of this capital infusion, with plans to bolster its product suite for globetrotters, extend its customer reach, and further fortify its team by attracting top-tier talent. The company had previously garnered $5 million in a seed funding round in 2021.
Principal at Peak XV, Shraeyansh Thakur, emphasized the significance of Atlys’s mission by stating, “Visa is a critical pain point for travelers, and Atlys is building a next-gen platform to transform visa applications for travelers globally and reimagine international travel.” Mayank Khanduja, partner at Elevation Capital, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our partnership with Mohak represents a significant step towards Atlys’ efforts to streamline global mobility. Their strategy to offer a new-age visa service that’s economical, risk-free, and data-driven will encourage quicker adoption of newer, more efficient procedures.”
Established in 2021 by Mohak Nahta, Atlys offers its clients a seamless and efficient means to apply for visas and ensures timely approvals through its digital platform accessible from anywhere in the world. Nahta shared Atlys’s unique selling point (USP), stating, “Our USP is to transform a process riddled with anxiety into one with certainty. By leveraging over a million data points, we’re able to predict when you’re going to get a visa and reduce visa rejection rates.”
Nahta envisions a world where every Indian can explore any corner of the globe without the encumbrance of labyrinthine visa procedures. “Atlys,” he added, “can help Indians get visas on time to over 100 countries and has reduced the time for applying for a visa to under three minutes.”
