The Delhi Government, in its continued effort to position the capital as a hub for innovation and business, has outlined a comprehensive strategy to foster 15,000 startups by 2030. This vision, meticulously crafted by its industries department, signals the Delhi Government’s commitment to fostering a dynamic startup ecosystem.
At the heart of this vision is the introduction of the ‘Dilli Bazar‘ portal, a novel digital marketplace concept. Alongside this, the Shahdara district, celebrated for its vibrant grain market, is set to be highlighted under the ‘One District One Product – Districts as Export Hubs’ initiative by the Delhi Government.
A senior representative from the Delhi Government shed light on how the newly devised startup policy aims to be a game-changer for emerging businesses in the region. Startups will have the opportunity to benefit from collateral-free loans, a significant boost during their initial days. Moreover, they’ll have complimentary access to a panel of esteemed experts, such as well-regarded chartered accountants. “The Delhi Government is also keen on nurturing college students brimming with innovative business ideas,” the representative said, indicating the upcoming launch of a startup-focused portal.
In another progressive move, the Delhi Government is on the brink of launching the ‘Dilli Bazaar’ portal, a unique digital platform in India. This portal, in its first phase, aims to spotlight 10,000 vendors, laying the foundation for a buzzing online marketplace.
But the Delhi Government’s plans for ‘Dilli Bazaar’ don’t end there. The portal is set to showcase over one lakh city shops within the first six months of its activation, providing them with a digital presence like never before. It further aspires to create an immersive online experience, enabling users to traverse through Delhi’s famed markets virtually. “Our dual aim is to enrich the shopper’s journey while providing an elevated platform for startups,” the official from the Delhi Government remarked.
Discussing the ‘District as Export Hub Scheme’, another official from the Delhi Government stated, “Our vision is centered on identifying, branding, and internationally promoting a distinct product from each district.”
Through this wide-ranging initiative, the Delhi Government demonstrates its vision to transform the capital into a prime startup and business cornerstone in India.
