Bangalore based online Edutech platform Unacademy raises $21-million Series C funding round from Sequoia India, SAIF Partners and Nexus Venture Partners. Blume Ventures also participated in this round.
Unacademy was founded by Gaurav Munjal, Roman Saini and Hemesh Singh in 2015. Munjal had started its first YouTube channel in 2010. Its primarily focus on four categories of competitive examinations—IIT JEE, NEET, GATE and banking examinations.
Gaurav Munjal, co-founder and CEO, said: “Right from the beginning, we have focused on growing the platform by empowering the best educators. We have grown extraordinarily since our inception, and just last month more than 3,000 educators were active on the platform and after launching ‘PLUS’ Course on its platform , lessons created by them were watched more than 40 million times by learners.”
